“You can take a trip down memory lane and relive the music of the last 70 years.
A successful pop song will stick in your mind for days. Whether they were a one-hit wonder or they have become a national anthem, love ‘em or hate ‘em, we all remember them.
People have fallen in love with a single or album and people have played songs at a funeral. Travellers have driven or flown nationally or overseas with a CD or cassette, playing songs, or had sex with songs playing in the background, or had a special occasion with these songs.
You could also say music is the bookmark to our memory. Personally I can remember where I was, what I was doing, who I was with or even how old I was when I hear certain songs.
So if this is the first time you have been interested in vinyl records or interested in picking up a book of this nature, welcome and enjoy the experience”.
The aim of this book is to list and value collectable records released only in Australia from 1920-1991.
The book includes artists from Australia and Overseas that released records in Australia on vinyl singles, EP’s, LP’s, 78’s and Cassettes, not to mention Samples, Promos, Limited Editions and Test Pressings.
As a whole, the book is diverse and thorough, covering many genres with over 75,000 entries, over 18,000 artists on over 1,000 record labels.
